Ani, a resourceful shepherd girl, challenges a prince to learn a useful skill before she agrees to marry him. Determined, the prince masters the art of carpet weaving, winning Ani's heart. They ascend the throne as king and queen, ruling harmoniously until a wicked magician kidnaps the king, forcing him into servitude to weave carpets for profit.
