Nine-year-old Ben Jinks is thrilled to get a pet, but a talking hamster named Stinky wasn't what he expected. When his mum challenges him to prove his responsibility to regain TV privileges, Ben discovers Stinky's talent for solving maths problems. As Ben's grades improve, his suspicious teacher, Beardy McCreedy, bets Ben's dad that Ben can't pass a maths test without cheating. With Stinky's help and some creative tactics, Ben aims to outsmart his teacher and reclaim his TV time.
