Nine and her friends journey to the unpredictable Back of Beyond to rescue Professor Dish, Spoon's alchemy partner, from the greedy witch Ophidia. Facing magical traps and formidable foes, they realise that Flabberghast's unreliable magic and Nine's quick thinking may not suffice. To succeed, they must seek out a clever witch skilled in curses.
