Lauren is thrilled when her dog Bella gives birth to puppies. However, one tiny pup, Lucy, is so small that Lauren's parents worry she might not survive. Determined to help, Lauren takes on the challenge of hand-rearing Lucy, feeding her around the clock. Through dedication and love, Lauren helps Lucy grow stronger, but as the time approaches for the puppies to find new homes, Lauren faces the heart-wrenching decision of letting Lucy go.
