Synopsis

In A.D. 793, Jack, an eleven-year-old Saxon farm boy, becomes the apprentice to the village Bard. His training is abruptly halted when Viking berserkers, led by Olaf One-Brow, raid his village, capturing Jack and his sister, Lucy. Taken to the court of Ivar the Boneless and his half-troll queen, Frith, Jack inadvertently casts a spell on Frith. To save Lucy from being sacrificed, Jack embarks on a perilous quest to the land of the trolls to reverse the spell, encountering mythical creatures and uncovering hidden strengths along the way.
