What does the Pageticker team say about The Bowerbird?

The Bowerbird is a charming, funny rhyming tale with a big-hearted hero and wonderfully expressive illustrations. Julia Donaldson gives us a gentle lesson about self-worth, kindness and not exhausting yourself to impress someone who is clearly being a bit of a plum. Best suited to children aged 4–7, with plenty for adults to enjoy during a read-aloud.

What is The Bowerbird about?

Bert the bowerbird has built the perfect nest, adorned with a pretty purple flower, hoping to attract his dream mate. When Nanette arrives, she's unimpressed, prompting Bert to gather more gifts to win her over. Despite his efforts, Nanette remains unsatisfied. Will Bert realise that true love appreciates him for who he is, not for the presents he offers?
