In this humorous retelling of the Nativity, a grumpy innkeeper's sleep is repeatedly disturbed by unexpected visitors—Mary and Joseph seeking shelter, shepherds, kings, and even a chorus of angels. Each time, he directs them 'round the back' to the stable. His frustration grows until he finally investigates the commotion, only to be transformed by the sight of the newborn baby Jesus.
