Thomas Ward, the seventh son of a seventh son, becomes apprentice to the local Spook, tasked with protecting the County from supernatural threats. As he learns to confront ghosts, witches, and boggarts, Thomas faces his greatest challenge when he inadvertently releases Mother Malkin, the most malevolent witch in the region.
