On Christmas Eve, a father is awakened by a commotion outside. Peering through the window, he witnesses St. Nicholas arriving in a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer. The jolly figure enters the house through the chimney, filling the children's stockings with gifts before departing, wishing all a 'Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!'

Clement Clarke Moore was an American writer best known for his famous Christmas poem, 'A Visit from St. Nicholas', also called 'The Night Before Christmas'. His delightful story about Santa Claus visiting on Christmas Eve has been enjoyed by children and families for many years, helping to create the magical traditions we love today.
