The jolly figure enters the house through the chimney, filling the children's stockings with gifts before departing, wishing all a 'Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!'

Clement Clarke Moore was an American writer best known for his famous Christmas poem, 'A Visit from St. Nicholas', also called 'The Night Before Christmas'.
