Synopsis
Six months after the events of Abhorsen, Lirael, now Abhorsen-in-Waiting, embarks on a perilous journey back to the Clayr's Glacier. Alongside Nicholas Sayre, who is afflicted by Free Magic, she seeks aid to heal him. Meanwhile, Ferin, a young woman from the distant North, brings a dire warning from Lirael's long-dead mother about the Witch with No Face. Lirael must confront this new threat to save the Old Kingdom, battling dangers in both the living world and the river of Death.
