What is Horton Hears a Who about?

In the Jungle of Nool, Horton the elephant hears a faint cry from a tiny speck of dust. Discovering it houses the microscopic Whos of Who-ville, Horton vows to protect them, declaring, "A person's a person, no matter how small." Despite ridicule from other animals, Horton remains steadfast, teaching the importance of compassion and standing up for others, regardless of their size.
