What is The Princess and the Pea about?

One stormy night, Princess Polly arrives at a prince’s palace, soaked from the rain and asking for shelter. The queen wonders whether the mysterious visitor is truly a princess, so she devises a clever test. Beneath a tall pile of mattresses, she hides a tiny pea. By morning, Polly reveals whether she could feel it through all those layers. This colourful retelling of the classic fairy tale introduces young readers to a charming story about royalty, curiosity and a very sensitive sleeper.
