Nell lives with her tribe in a cave, where her beloved pet Cave Bear is her closest friend. When she discovers that the grown-ups plan to give him away, Nell runs off with him on a daring journey. Following a stream down the mountain, they encounter enormous mammoths, dangerous hunters, hunger and thirst. As they search for a safe place to stay together, Nell and Cave Bear must rely on their courage, cleverness and unbreakable friendship.
