What is The Night Shimmy about?
Eric rarely speaks, so his imaginary friend, the Night Shimmy, says everything for him. When Eric meets Marcia, she accepts his quiet nature and invites him to play. Their new friendship brings Eric confidence, but the Night Shimmy suddenly disappears. Feeling hurt and frightened, Eric pulls away from Marcia. Then her kite becomes trapped in a tree, and Eric must decide whether to help. As he finds the courage to act and communicate, Eric realises he may not need the Night Shimmy after all.
