When a grandparent and child decide to visit the beach, they do not need to leave the sitting room. Together, they imagine flying kites, building enormous sandcastles and splashing through sparkling waves. Their make-believe adventure brings the seaside to life, turning an ordinary day into something wonderful. With every game, they discover that imagination can take them anywhere, while their special bond makes OUR beach the happiest place to be.
About the author
Rebecca Smith is a British author who enjoys bringing stories to life for readers of all ages. She has written novels such as The Bluebird Café and A Bit of Earth, as well as books inspired by the world of Jane Austen. Her children’s stories include Shadow Eyes and Shadow Cat Summer. Rebecca has also worked as a writer in residence at Jane Austen’s House and teaches creative writing, helping new writers discover the joy of words and imagination.
