What is The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin about?
Nutkin is a cheeky red squirrel who travels to Owl Island with his brothers and cousins to gather nuts. Each day, the squirrels politely offer a gift to Old Brown, the great owl who guards the island. But while the others show respect, Nutkin teases Old Brown with riddles and dances. As his mischief grows, so does the owl’s anger. When Nutkin finally goes too far, he discovers that even the boldest squirrel should know when to stop.
