About the author
Nell Gifford was a British author and circus director who loved stories, horses and magical performances. She founded Giffords Circus, a colourful travelling circus known for its wonderful shows. Nell also wrote books inspired by circus life and history, including Nell and the Circus of Dreams and Sgt. Major Philip Astley: Inventor of the Circus. Her writing invites readers to imagine bright costumes, daring tricks and exciting adventures under the big top.
