What is Monster Island about?

After a family tragedy, eleven-year-old Sam is sent to live with her grandad in a remote lighthouse on Draymur Isle. With a troublesome goat, unfriendly classmates and strange warnings about putting jam on her feet at bedtime, island life is far from ordinary. Then Sam hears something squelching beneath her bed. As she investigates, she discovers that her grandad’s stories may be true: real monsters are hiding under the beds of Draymur Isle, and they are hungry.
