What is The Stepmonster about?

Tom knows exactly what stepmothers are like. In stories, they are wicked, sneaky and horrible — stepmonsters in disguise! So when his dad introduces him to Lulu, Tom is certain she cannot be trusted. She may have golden hair, love manatees and moles, and enjoy playing Snap, but perhaps it is all part of her clever plan. As Tom watches Lulu more closely, he must decide whether she really is a monster or whether family changes might not be quite as frightening as he imagined.
