What is Letters to a Giant about?

Sophie is thrilled about her birthday party until one of her invitations blows away and lands with Harry the Hairy Giant. Harry is delighted to be invited, but Sophie worries he might eat all her guests. She writes letter after letter, politely trying to change his mind. Harry refuses to give up, especially now he has a splendid purple suit and new dance moves. As their letters travel back and forth, Sophie discovers that this enormous stranger may be kinder—and far more fun—than she expected.
