What is Squished about?

Eleven-year-old Avery Lee loves her Maryland neighbourhood, her friends and creating art, but life in a family of nine leaves her feeling constantly squashed. When her older brother gets his own room and her baby brother joins her already crowded bedroom, Avery decides it is time to fight for space of her own. As she manages sleepless nights, changing friendships and an important art competition, the possibility of moving across the country makes everything even more complicated.
