What is Tales of a lizard boy about?

Tommy Tomkins is really Booger Lizk’t, a lizard boy whose family has escaped their underground home after humans use up its resources. Now disguised as humans, they must try to fit into life above ground. School is difficult when Tommy is bullied for eating bugs and struggling to make friends. When he meets Dung Tran, another outsider, the two begin to understand each other. But keeping his true identity secret could put their friendship—and his family’s safety—in danger.
