What is By the Light of the Moon about?

When Mole warns that the farmer’s plough may destroy their nest, Mother Mouse must quickly find a safe new bed for Little Mouse. Together they search through the moonlit countryside, considering Mole’s cosy underground home, Owl’s high tree nest and Duck’s damp bed among the reeds. None feels quite right, and Little Mouse grows sleepier by the minute. Then Mother Mouse remembers a special place from her own childhood, where they can finally settle down safely beneath the shining moon.
