What is The fall of the House of Usher about?
When Roderick Usher invites his childhood friend to stay at his lonely family mansion, the house feels cold, gloomy and strangely alive. Roderick is ill, his twin sister Madeline has disappeared, and the dark lake outside seems to hide a terrible secret. As frightening sounds echo through the halls, Roderick’s friend begins to wonder what has happened to Madeline—and whether the Usher family can escape its unhappy past before the ancient house finally falls.
