A poor shoemaker has only enough leather to make one last pair of shoes. He cuts the leather and goes to bed, hoping to finish the shoes in the morning. But when he wakes, the work is complete, and the beautifully made shoes quickly find a buyer. Night after night, mysterious little elves help him in secret. Determined to thank them, the shoemaker and his wife make a special gift, revealing the kindness behind the magic.

Alison Edgson is a talented illustrator from Northern Ireland who loves bringing stories to life with her colourful pictures. She has illustrated many wonderful books for children, including ‘Me and My Dad’ and ‘Waiting for Santa’. Alison enjoys painting animals and nature, and her cheerful artwork helps make reading even more fun!
