What is Stanley Bagshaw and the fourteen-foot wheel about?
Stanley Bagshaw is given an important job at the Huddersgate foundry: he must watch the wheel-making machine and pull a lever at exactly the right moment. But Stanley is easily distracted, and soon he nods off. When he misses the signal, a gigantic fourteen-foot wheel breaks free and rolls through the town, causing uproar wherever it goes. Told in lively rhyming verse, this funny adventure follows Stanley and the townspeople as they try to stop the runaway wheel.
