What is The Nutcracker about?
On Christmas Eve, Clara receives a mysterious nutcracker doll and settles down to sleep. Soon, the toys spring to life, and Clara is swept into a thrilling battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. After the fight, she travels through a magical winter forest to the sparkling Land of Sweets, where colourful dancers and enchanting characters welcome her. Inspired by George Balanchine’s famous ballet, this beautifully illustrated retelling captures the wonder, excitement and dreamlike magic of a timeless Christmas story.
