What is The power of welcome about?
Through vivid graphic storytelling, five young people describe being forced to leave their homes because of war and conflict. Their journeys begin in Bosnia, Somalia, Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan, and reveal the fear, danger and uncertainty of becoming refugees. Each story is accompanied by clear information about the country and its history, helping readers understand why people flee and what happens when they arrive somewhere new. Honest, moving and accessible, this book encourages empathy and thoughtful discussion about displacement and welcome.
