What is The Recruit about?

After his mother’s death, troubled eleven-year-old James is sent to a children’s home, where his intelligence and rebellious nature attract the attention of CHERUB, a secret organisation of child spies. To join, James must survive 100 days of punishing training that tests his strength, courage and determination. When he finally earns his place, he is sent on his first dangerous mission overseas. But spying on a radical group becomes far more deadly when explosives and toxic chemicals enter the picture.
