What is The You Can't Let An Elephant series by Patricia Cleveland-Peck about?

Written between 2015 and 2026, this riotous picture-book series follows animals attempting tasks they are spectacularly unsuited to perform. Beginning with an elephant on a bus, the books expand into diggers, emergency services, holidays, racing cars, Christmas celebrations and school, each new setting bringing fresh comic chaos. Patricia Cleveland-Peck’s bouncy rhyming text and David Tazzyman’s energetic illustrations invite children to spot visual jokes and predict each disaster. The series will appeal particularly to children aged 3–6 who enjoy silly animals, repetition, rhyme and lively read-alouds. Mishaps are exaggerated and slapstick, with no serious danger, though some scenes may feel noisy or chaotic.
