What is The Super Happy Magic series by Matty Long about?
Beginning in 2015 and expanding through 2024, Matty Long’s Super Happy Magic Forest series follows five unlikely heroes: a unicorn, pixie, gnome, faun and mushroom. Their adventures begin with a straightforward quest, then grow into longer illustrated escapades involving a gigantic slug, frozen landscapes, strange portals, underwater trouble and a distant desert. The stories combine fantasy, visual jokes and comic peril, making them suitable for children aged around six and upwards who enjoy imaginative adventures, absurd humour and highly illustrated books. The series is generally gentle, though readers may encounter monsters, villains, danger and occasional mild threat, all presented in a playful, non-graphic way.
