What is The Little Board Books series by Lesley Sims about?

Developed from the early 2010s onwards, Little Board Books introduces very young children to familiar rhymes, songs and traditional tales through short, simply retold stories and lively illustrations. The series progresses from everyday favourites such as Old MacDonald and Itsy Bitsy Spider to fairy tales, classic literature and accessible Bible stories, including Noah’s Ark and David and Goliath. With sturdy pages and recommended ages from around 18 months, these books suit toddlers enjoying shared reading, repetition and first storytelling. Some stories include mild peril, frightening characters or themes such as storms, lions and separation, so sensitive children may benefit from adult reassurance.
