What is The Emerald series by Harriet Muncaster about?

Written and published from 2023 onwards, Harriet Muncaster’s Emerald series follows a spirited young mermaid adjusting to life as a princess after her mother marries the Sea King. Across underwater celebrations, sea-sprite discoveries, treasure hunts, royal misunderstandings and changes at home, Emerald gradually learns to balance palace expectations with her own untamed personality. These illustrated early readers will appeal to children aged around 5–8, especially fans of Isadora Moon, mermaids and gentle fantasy adventures. Mild peril, getting lost and family-related worries are handled reassuringly; there is no violence.
