Developed in about 1984, Farmyard Tales follows Poppy and Sam as they explore Apple Tree Farm with Rusty the dog, Mrs Boot and a lively cast of animals. The series progresses from gentle, simply told farmyard adventures to activity, sound, novelty and seasonal books. With Poppy aged about four and Sam about two, it suits preschool children enjoying familiar routines, animals and shared reading. Stories may include mild mishaps, lost animals or brief moments of worry, but content remains reassuring and age-appropriate.
