What is The Mini Monsters series by Caryl Hart about?
Written and published in 2020–2021, Caryl Hart’s Mini Monsters follows Sparkle, Scout, Arthur and Tiny at monster preschool. Across two colourful picture books, the friends learn how to include one another in play, cope with disappointment and recognise that everyone has different strengths. The stories progress from a squabble over joining a magic show to Arthur’s struggles with always coming last, gently opening conversations about empathy, apologies, friendship and self-esteem. Best suited to toddlers and preschoolers; mild sadness, exclusion and frustration are central but reassuringly resolved.
