What is The Murray and Bun series by Adam Stower about?
Created and published from 2024 onwards, Adam Stower’s Murray and Bun follows Murray, a comfort-loving cat, and Bun, his endlessly enthusiastic friend, whose enchanted cat flap opens on far more than the garden. Across successive adventures, the pair become Vikings, knights, pirates, ghosthunters and explorers, encountering quests, monsters and mysteries while their contrasting temperaments keep things funny. These illustrated chapter books should appeal to newly independent readers aged around seven, especially fans of animal friendships, imaginative play and fast-moving humour. Mild peril and spooky imagery feature, but nothing is sustained or graphic.
