What is The Chu series by Neil Gaiman about?
Written between 2013 and 2015, Neil Gaiman’s three-book Chu series follows a small panda with an enormous sneeze. In Chu’s Day, everyday outings to the library, diner and circus become unexpectedly eventful; Chu’s First Day of School explores nerves, friendship and settling into a new routine; and Chu’s Day at the Beach brings his family seaside. Adam Rex’s expressive illustrations amplify the visual comedy. Best suited to pre-school and early-primary children, especially those enjoying quirky humour; mild peril and chaotic sneezing are the only notable concerns.
