What is The New Bum series by Dawn McMillan about?

Beginning with I Need a New Bum! (2012), Dawn McMillan’s humorous picture-book series follows a boy whose troublesome bottom leads to increasingly absurd adventures. Across the books, it cracks, makes noise, behaves cheekily, runs away and gets involved in festive escapades, while later stories extend the joke to family members and seasonal characters. Rhyming text and bold illustrations will appeal to children aged around 3–7 who enjoy toilet humour and energetic read-alouds. Expect references to bottoms, smells and bodily functions; some editions contain small parts.
