What is The Daisy and the Trouble With... series by Kes Gray about?

Written from 2007 to 2025, Kes Gray’s Daisy series follows an irrepressibly curious girl whose everyday experiences regularly become extraordinary trouble. Across school, holidays, family life and seasonal celebrations, Daisy encounters zoos, giants, kittens, burglars, space and plenty more, with each adventure building on the same lively comic premise while standing alone. Short chapters, energetic illustrations and Daisy’s determined, sometimes chaotic viewpoint make the books appealing to newly independent readers, especially children who enjoy humour, mischief and familiar situations spiralling out of control. Best suited to around ages 5–7, the series includes mild peril, slapstick mishaps and spooky or disgusting themes, handled lightly and reassuringly.
