Synopsis

In an alternate 19th-century England, cousins Bonnie and Sylvia are left in the care of the cruel Miss Slighcarp when Bonnie's parents embark on a sea voyage. Their once joyful home, Willoughby Chase, is transformed as servants are dismissed and belongings sold. The girls are sent to a harsh orphan school, enduring endless drudgery.
