Synopsis

During World War II, Polish soldiers adopt an orphaned bear cub named Wojtek. As he grows, Wojtek becomes an official soldier, assisting in the Battle of Monte Cassino by carrying ammunition. After the war, unable to return home, the soldiers and Wojtek settle in Scotland. Wojtek finds a new home at Edinburgh Zoo, and a statue in Princes Street Gardens honours his bravery and the bond he shared with his comrades.
