Fourteen-year-old Calum dreams of writing blockbuster films but feels trapped in his mundane life. When his dad's Polish girlfriend and her son, Sergei, move in, Calum's world is upended. Sharing a room with 'the enemy' challenges his prejudices. After a hit-and-run leaves Calum housebound, he and Sergei bond over investigating local break-ins.
