What is An Unexpected Twist about?

Shona's life takes a turn when she moves to a new school and struggles to stay out of trouble, much like Oliver Twist, the character she's studying in class. When she's unexpectedly given a mobile phone by a stranger, Shona begins to suspect there's something suspicious about the new boys she's met. She soon learns that some gifts aren't exactly free. This modern retelling of Dickens' classic, illustrated by Tony Ross, intertwines Shona's story with Oliver's, highlighting timeless themes of poverty and crime.
