Gary W. Boone dreams of being a stand-up comedian, but his classmates think he's just a goon. When the school talent show is announced, Gary sees his chance to shine and starts practising his routine non-stop. He's determined to make everyone laugh and win the $100 prize. However, an unexpected surprise threatens to turn his debut into a disaster, and it looks like the biggest joke of all may be on Gary himself.
