Synopsis
King Lear, an ageing monarch, decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters based on their declarations of love for him. Goneril and Regan, his elder daughters, offer flattering words, while Cordelia, the youngest, speaks honestly. Angered by her response, Lear disowns Cordelia. However, Goneril and Regan's true natures soon emerge as they betray their father, leading to his descent into madness and a tragic chain of events that affect the entire kingdom.
