On a warm summer's day, Mole meets Mouse, a new arrival in the forest. They quickly become close friends, but Mole hesitates to introduce Mouse to the other animals, preferring to keep their friendship exclusive. Meanwhile, Rabbit, Squirrel, and Hedgehog wonder about Mole's absence. When they finally meet Mouse, Mole realises that sharing friendships makes them even more special.
