What is Tom's Lady Of The Lamp about?

In 1854, thirteen-year-old Tom Wilcox, having run away to join the army, finds himself trapped under a fallen horse during the Battle of Inkerman. Rescued and taken to Scutari Hospital, he confronts the grim realities of war as wounded soldiers perish in droves. Amidst the despair, the arrival of Florence Nightingale brings hope and a chance for healing.
