Synopsis

Kitaro appears to be an ordinary boy, but he's actually a 350-year-old yokai—a Japanese spirit monster. With one eye, jet-powered sandals, and the ability to shape-shift, Kitaro embarks on adventures across Japan's countryside and the Pacific Ocean. Alongside his supernatural friends, he confronts giant robots, vampires, werewolves, and witches, blending eerie tales with humour in this collection of twelve stories from 1967 to 1969.

Shigeru Mizuki was a much-loved Japanese author and artist, best known for creating exciting stories about friendly and mischievous yokai, or Japanese monsters. His famous series 'GeGeGe no Kitaro' has delighted children for many years, sparking imaginations with its magical creatures and adventurous tales. Mizuki's drawings are full of fun and wonder.
