Katie is thrilled when her parents allow her to get a puppy. She chooses Timmy, a lively spaniel, hoping her family will adore him as much as she does. However, her sister Jess worries about how their cat, Misty, will react. Despite Katie's optimism, Misty is upset by Timmy's playful attempts to befriend her, leading to tension in the household.
