Amy's ventriloquist dummy, Dennis, keeps losing his head—literally. Desperate for a replacement, her father brings home Slappy from a local pawnshop. At first, Amy enjoys practising her routines with Slappy, but soon, unsettling events begin to occur. Objects are mysteriously damaged, and Amy is blamed. She starts to suspect that Slappy is more than just a dummy and may have a sinister life of his own.
